DOSRIUS
Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona
Catalan | Escut caironat: d'argent, una perla ondada d'atzur acompanyada al cap d'un castell de gules obert. Per timbre una corona de marquès. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 9, 2000.
The arms are canting; Dosrius means literally in Catalan "two rivers". The arms show the situation of the village (symbolized by its 12th century castle), at the confluence of the "rieres" (creeks) of El Far and Canyamars, that form the Riera de Dosrius. The castle is also an allusion to the marquises of Castelldosrius, title granted to the barons of Dosrius in 1690. The arms show, at the top, the marquis crown.
