Origin/meaning
From the Family Arms. As Captain of Crescent in 1793 he captured the French Reunion (this is indicated by the Crescent). Later med Admiral of the Red, and as Baron Saumarez won the Action off the Gut of Gibraltar in 1801. The Badge was approved in 1943.
