Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on April 14, 1995.
The azure field with gold billets is taken from the arms of the Franche-Comté region and the cow's head refers to the activity of the village centered on cattle breeding.
The three cheeses refer to the cheese making and local type of cheese.
The beech tree on a mountain is an allusion to the name of the town (fayard is teh local name for beech, Montagne is mountain).
