GRANGES-PRÈS-MARNAND

Canton : Vaud
Incorporated into : 2011 Valbroye

Armoiries de Granges-près-Marnard

Official blazon

  • (fr) De gueules à trois oies d'argent.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1928.

The three geese are a canting symbol for the nickname of the villagers at the time, Les Canz (Gans is German for goose). The colours are those of the Diocese of Lausanne and the town of Payerne, as the village historically was owned or ruled by these entities.
