Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 7, 2021.

The dove carrying an olive branch evokes Saint Walfroy who evangelized the inhabitants of the region (he is also known as the Apostle of the Ardennes).

The lion's head and the golden crown remind are taken from the arms of Montmédy, to which the village historically belonged.

The Roman centurion's mantle is that of Saint Martin Of Tours, the local patron saint.

The two axes illustrate the sawmill and the tool-handle factory that once operated in the village.

The twigs are those of hornbeams and other trees in the surrounding forests.
