Origin/meaning
The arms are a combination of the previous arms of Volda (below) and Hornindal, see there. They were adopted in 2020.
The previous arms were granted on June 19, 1987.
The arms show a tip of a fountain pen, as a symbol for the district- and teacher schools in the village.
