The cross of Saint John is a canting symbol (San Xoán=St. John). The tower represents the old tower that in Torrevella, the bridge is the local bridge on the Navea river. The gold for the tower and bridge is a reference to the ancient Roman gold mines in the municipality.
 
The natural chestnut branches are a symbol of the abundance of this tree and a key food source in past times.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in November 2021.

The cross of Saint John is a canting symbol (San Xoán=St. John). The tower represents the old tower that in Torrevella, the bridge is the local bridge on the Navea river. The gold for the tower and bridge is a reference to the ancient Roman gold mines in the municipality.
