Spanish | Escudo partido. Primero, las armas de la Abadía de San Pedro de Arlanza, de gules, un castillo de oro, de cinco torres almenadas, la central del homenaje; mazonado de sable y aclarado de azur, y sobre el fondo dos llaves en aspa, opuestas y unidas por cadena, todo en oro; en jefe una cruz griega y patada de oro. Segundo, de plata, tres rectángulos de sinople, puestos en palo y a sus flancos dos chopos de su color; en punta tres ondas de azur por el río Arlanza; bordura de azur, cargada de seis torres almenadas de oro, mazonadas de sable. Al timbre corona ducal, la que traía la Abadía de Arlanza, recibida del conde Fernán González, llamado “duque de los castellanos y de Busturia (Vizcaya)” por algunos cronistas. |
