L'ESCALA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
Catalan | Escut caironat partit: 1r d'atzur una torre oberta d'or; 2n faixat d'or i de gules. Per timbre, una corona de vila. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 27, 2004.
The tower is taken from the old seal of the town and probably shows the 13th century castle of the Counts of Empúries, who ruled the city for many centuries. The bars are the arms of the Counts of Empúries.
