====Origin/meaning====
===Origin/meaning===
The birds are canting, they are Golden Orioles (Oriolus oriolus). The golden bend is also canting, from Or, gold. The bend is also derived from the arms of the 14th century Don Fernán Pérez de Andrade, whose arams can still be seen in the local parish church.  The green field symbolises the agricultural character of the municipality.

The eight pine trees in the bordure refer to the eight parishes in the municipality, as well as to the importance of forestry.
