Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 15th March 1984.
Viladamat, a village surrounded by walls, has had traditionally a tower (or a castle) on its arms. It was placed in the county of Empúries, and until 1621 belonged to the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, represented here by its canting arms: the keys of St. Peter and two wheels ("rodes" in Catalan).
