Country : United States
Denomination : Roman Catholic

Established : 1986

Arms (crest) of Diocese of Shreveport

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The silver wavy fork is charged with a golden sunburst. The sunburst points to the Jesuits and is employed here to honor Saint-Joahnnes Berchmans, titular of the Cathedral of Shreveport. Berchmans was a Jesuit and an associate of Aloysius Gonzaga. Issuant from the sunburst are three wavy bars, who symbolize the three rivers, that run to the diocese of Shreveport: the Red River, the Misssippi and the Ouachita.
