POHORELÁ

Province : Banská Bystrica
District (okres) : Brezno

Pohorelá (Erb, znak)

Official blazon

V červenom štíte z modrého trojvršia vyrastajúce tri strieborné kvety na strieborných listnatých stopkách.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 20, 1997.

The arms are based on the 18th century seal of the village. The flowers are not officially defined in the blazon, but are most likely a local species of hellebore (Helleborus viridis), which is found in the local mountains. The village itself describes it as this hellebore species.

The colours are the Slovak colours.

Literature: Kartous and Vrteľ
