Origin/meaning
The arms are based on elements from the historical coats of arms and seals of Bjelovar, that changed according to the actual rulers and artistic customs of the time. Already on the first seals of the city of Bjelovar around 1760 when the city was established, the castle is to be found as well as the soldiers, first as supporters, and later as integral part of the shield design. The three sumps are recent addition established in last hundred years.
