Official blazon
English Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: A red diamond-shaped device edged with an 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border fimbriated with an 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white inner border, the overall dimensions 2 7/8 inches (7.30 cm) in height and 3 7/8 inches (9.84 cm) in width, on which is a white head of a steer affronté below the inscription “SOUTH” in white letters.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A gold base metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield divided diagonally white and blue, the white charged with an American bison and the blue with a flaming torch, both gold. Attached above the shield is a white scroll inscribed “ROTC” and below is another scroll inscribed “OMAHA HIGH SCHOOLS,” both inscriptions in gold letters.

Origin/meaning

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved 26 April 1983. The Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved 9 May 1955 for all Omaha, Nebraska, Public High Schools.
