STARE BABICE
Province: Mazowsze
County: Warsaw West
Polish | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on June 4, 1998 and changed on October 30, 2012.
The horseshoe with cross and arrow is taken from the arms of the Babicki family of the Dołęga family clan. The family ruled the area for over 400 years. The two crossed swords commemorate the fact that the writer Henryk Sienkiewicz placed a famous duel in Lipków, one of the villages in the municipality, in his book in the novel With Fire and Sword.
