Former province : until 2009 Oulu

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 8, 1956.
The arms are based on the seal of the village from the 17th century. The three ermines are taken from the historical arms of the Ostrobothnia region. The division line refers to the fact that the village is on the coast.
