BAUMA

Canton : Zürich
Additions : 2015 Sternenberg

Wappen von Bauma/Arms (crest) of Bauma
Official blazon
German In Silber auf grünem Boden eine grüne Tanne mit rotem Stamm.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on March 22, 1927.

Bauma was created as a separate municipality in 1651 and the oldest use of the arms dates from 1740. The arms show a canting tree (Baume), at the time still an undefined deciduous tree. In 1803 th etree was changed into a pine tree on a ground, which was also used on the seal from 1805. During the 19th century different shapes of the tree appeared, but in 1927 the type and colours were finally properly described.
