MEDIAȘ

District/county (județ) : Sibiu

Stema Mediaș

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 25, 2007.

The right palm placed horizontally signifies the local court, received as a privilege in the Medieval Age.

The vine symbolizes the viticultural richness of the area. These items were identified on an old seal dating from 1549.

The crown with 5 crenellated towers means that the locality has the rank of city.
