History: Formed in July 1916 on Malta.

A maltese cross argent/gules surmounted of an eagle volant Or.
Motto: Nunquam defuimus = We have never failed.
Origin/meaning
The Maltese Cross symbolise the location on Malta. The Eagle alludes to the early use by the Royal Naval Air Service. The badge was approved in April 1938.
