The arms were granted on 20 September 1982.

The golden grid represents a chapel dedicated to St. Lawrence. The shield is semy of wheat to indicate the following: The farmers of Waisenegg follow a very singular tradition. At certain times in the liturgical calendar, the farmers meet to have the harvested wheat blessed. Each farmer then takes a handful of the blessed corn home to mix it into the seeds, so to spread God's blessing over the land.
