History: Formed at Wick in August 1943.
Official blazon
A polar bear's jamb in bend proper holding a scroll of parchment Or in front of an flash of lightning gules.
Motto: Undaunted by weather.
Origin/meaning
The Unit carried out meteorogical surveys over the Polar Region indicated by the Jamb. The written information carried back is indicated by the Parchment and the Lighning symbolises the Elements. The badge was granted in November 1945.
