On a mount in waves of the sea in front of a palm tree vert fructed Or a crowned crane displayed proper.
Origin/meaning
The Crowned Crane is indigenous to West Africa where the Squadron was based when it applied for a Badge. The Palm Tree and Waves allude to the Coastal Belt from which it operated. The Motto translates as "I went out over the sea". The badge was granted in July 1943.
