History: First formed in 1943 at Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island, USA as a Fighter Squadron. Disbanded into Nos 1830 and 1833 Squadrons. Reformed 1944 at Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine, USA and desbanded in 1946.
