ALMĂJ
District/county (județ) : Dolj
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 1, 2018.
The two swords attest to the archaeological discoveries dating from the third century BC. Acorns represent the deciduous forests in the area, and their number indicates the number of component villages of the commune.
The apple is canting for the name of the commune, which comes from the word "alma" (apple), "almas" (apple orchard).
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
