LE MÉNIL-SCELLEUR

Département : Orne

Blason de Le Ménil-Scelleur/Coat of arms (crest) of {{PAGENAME
Official blazon
French De gueules au serpent d'argent ondoyant en pal accosté de deux haches affrontées d'or; à la bordure d'argent chargée de huit molettes de sable.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 2002.

The axes evoke the clearing of the forest which preceded the creation of the village. The serpent evokes Saint Hilary, patron saint of the parish.

The border refers to the arms of the Fromont family, former lords of the village.
