===Origin/meaning===
The arms were officially granted on April 25, 1486 by Georg den Reichen, Duke of Bayern-Landshut. The modern version adopted on October 18, 1947.

The official charter is no longer available, the text is copied in the archives of the Dukes. The oldest known image dates from the late 15th century. The blue and silver colours are those of Bayern (Bavaria).

The tower probably symbolises the Utterndorf castle, which was demolished in 1690, which was built by the Lords of Uttendorf in the 14th century. It became a possession of the Bavarian Dukes in 1461. The town was part of Bavaria until 1780.

Origin/meaning
