VILLERS-AUX-VENTS
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in December 2009.
The arms are partially canting; the inverted chevron forms the letter V for the town's initial, and the two blowing angel heads symbolise the winds (vents in French).
The wheatear and the green colour refer to the agricultural character of the village. The cross is taken from the arms of the Duchy of Bar, to which the area historically belonged.
The blue and gold colours are taken from the arms of the medieval De Villers family, which originated from the area.
