Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
DROSS
State : Niederösterreich
District : Krems-Land
Official blazon
Gespalten; vorne in Grün eine silberne heraldische Lilie, hinten in Rot ein goldener, aufgerichteter schwarz bewehrter Löwe.
Origin/meaning
The arms are a combination of the lion from the arms of Georg Freiherr von Pichelsdorf, who built the local castle. The fleur-de-lys is the symbol of Saint Mary and the local church.
