MICHAEL FOYLAN
Born: June 1907
Deceased: 28 May 1976
Bishop of Aberdeen, 1964-1976
English | blazon wanted |
Argent four lozenges in bend conjoined between two cotises Azure, on a chief Gules a garb Or between two fleurs-de-lys Argent.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1965.
Bishop Foylan's arms were a differenced version of the O'Faelan arms as given in Burke (1884), with one silver fleur-de-lys changed by a garb.
