Arms (crest) of Percé

Official blazon

Arms : Azure a cod embowed fesswise between in chief a representation of the Percé Rock and in base a trilobite (Synphoroides biardi) palewise all Or.
Crest: A traditional Gaspé fishing boat Argent rigged Azure issuing from a mural coronet with three battlements Or, masoned Azure.
Supporters: Two gannets proper.
Motto: VAILLANCE ET PERSÉVÉRANCE

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 19, 1997.

The rock is the famous pierced rock off the coast of this city, which was also featured on one of the quarters minted to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Confederation.
The cod symbolises the fishing industry of the area, while the trilobite is a fossil found in the area.
