CURTEȘTI

District/county (județ) : Botoșani

Stema Curtești

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 9, 2014.

The oak with acorns and the trefoil cross are reminiscent of the legend of the founding of Agafton Monastery, a place of worship, located in this area. The peacock refers to the etymology of the name of the commune, as well as to the old name of the locality, Curtea Doamnei.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
