OLTENIȚA
District/county (județ) : Călărași
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 18, 2002.
Wheat ears evoke the role of the settlement in agricultural production, symbolizing the richness of the plain in the Danube Meadow. The anchor evokes the fact that the settlement is a port and represents the main industrial activity of the locality.
The two bars at the base of the shield mean that the town is located in a rich fishing area, being bordered by the Danube river and the Argeș river.
