TÂRGOVIȘTE
District/county (județ) : Dâmbovița
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 30, 1998.
The wall reminds of the historical monuments existing in the old capital of Wallachia; the crucified eagle attests the Latin origin of the Romanian nation and its uninterrupted continuity in the ancestral hearth; the two voivodship characters evoke the institution of the reign and the state organization.
