District/county (județ) : Bihor
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 20, 2008.
Oak signifies the symbol of permanence and forest richness of the area. The factory, the wheat spike, the sack and the container represent the presence of a growing food industry.
The two hammers and the quarter gear symbolize the presence of the mining industry and the car manufacturer. The wavy bar represents the Crişul Negru river, which crosses the area.
The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
