Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 9, 2000.

The shepherd and his sheep signify the grazing and raising of animals as an old occupation of the inhabitants of this area;

The Vâlcan Mountains, the Vâlcan Pass and the road that descends are places with important historical significance since the Dacian period, symbolizing the devotion, eternity, purification through liberation and trust of the people of these places in their own strength;

The entrance to the mine and the wagon represent mining, the main occupation of the inhabitants.
