English 1963 Version: Barry wavy of eight white and blue; an ancient crown gold.
1966 Version: Blue; a base wavy of four white and blue overall a knight in armor with surcoat white on horse caparisoned in hist dexter hand a sword proper on his sinsiter arm a shield gold charged with a lion rampant red on the helm a wtreath gold and red rising therfrom a demi-lion red the caparisons of the horse red fimriated gold theron six shields gold each charged with a lion rampant red.

Motto in both Versions: Tam ratione quam vi.

Origin/meaning

The first version of the badge approved on 15 June 1963 allude to the MacDuffs as Earls of Fife they had the honour of Crowning the King of the Scots. The badge is based on the County Seal of 1360. The second version was approved on 4 May 1966, and is based on the 1927 Arms granted to Fife. The Latin Motto translates as "As much by reason as by strenght".
