Official blazon

Arms: Argent, a chevron rompu point debased Azure; on a canton of the last three bendlets sinister of the field.
Crest: On a wreath of the colors a boar's head erased Sable armed and langued Gules.
Motto: OUR COUNTRY NOT OURSELVES.

Origin/meaning

This regiment was in the 3rd Division during World War I, shown by divisional shoulder sleeve insignia on the canton. The broken chevron represents the part taken by this regiment in pushing back the point of the German drive at the Marne 1918-07-17, for which services the regiment was cited by the French in Orders of the Army. The boar's head represents the subsequent passage through the German lines and occupation of German territory by this regiment.

The arms were originally approved on 4 May, 1921. Literature: Image and Information from Wikimedia Commons.
