Official blazon
French D'argent au lévrier rampant de sable, accolé et bouclé du champ.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1978.

The municipality took the arms of the former Murbach Abbey, after which the village is named. The abbey dominated the village for nearly 1000 years until it was abolished in 1798. The abbey buildings are still the main buildings in the municipality.

The village itself had no historical arms or seals, hence the choice of the abbey arms as a successor of the worldly power in the area. The village is entitled to use the War Cross 1914-1918 below the shield.
