English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on June 24, 2024.
The inverted chevron forms a "V", the initial of the commune. The three bands are taken from the arms of the "De Maichin" family, former lords of the place. The silver cross pattée is taken from the arms of the "De Cumont" family, who were also a former lords.
The lightning evokes Saint Ausonius, the patron saint of the parish who protects from lightning. The reeds symbolize the marshes on the territory of the municipality.
