CORNI (BOTOȘANI)

District/county (județ): Botoșani

Stema Corni (Botoșani)

Official blazon

Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat în furcă răsturnată. În partea superioară, în dreapta, în câmp roșu, se află trei fructe de corn, toate de aur. În partea superioară, în stânga, în câmp de argint, se află un mesteacăn verde dezrădăcinat. În vârful scutului, în câmp albastru, se află două brâuri undate de argint. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 9, 2014.

The European cornel fruits refer to the etymology of the name of the commune, as well as to the cornel forest that was the refuge and the first hearth of the village.

The birch represents the etymology of the name of the village Mesteacăn.

The wavy bars symbolize the hydrographic richness of the area, the commune being crossed by the Siret river and the Miletin river.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
