COSTULENI
District/county (județ): Iași
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 11, 2013.
The arms represent the fact that the territory of the locality was part of the princely hunting domain (15th-18th centuries).
The deer also refers to the name of the locality, which in the Slavonic language means "goat".
The black chief with the three tears shows that the Prut river, which became a border, divided the locality in two in 1812, the eastern part now being part of Moldova.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
