Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms show in the first quarter a miner's lamp for the (former) importance of mining, and in the fourth a cooling tower as a symbol for the power station in the village. The second quarter shows the arms of Nassau and the third a fleur-de-lys for France. These two quarters indicate that the village was part of the county Nassau-Saarbrücken before being ceded to France.
