Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on August 2, 2000.

The first quarter shows a colt, an Ukrainian female decoration. The second quarter shows a staff of Mercury, symbol for trade. The third a wheat sheaf as symbol for agriculture. The fourth quarter shows a mounted knight, the arms of the former rulers of the city.
