Origin/meaning
The arms were allegedly granted in 1303 by King Albert of Austria, when the city rights were granted.
The castle is the local castle, which was ruined in the 1340s. The small arms show the arms of the diocese of Freising, as the church of Freising (in southern Bavaria) owned a large part of the area since its foundation in 770 until 1803.
