Brasão de Fundão (city)

Official blazon

Escudo de prata, com um castanheiro de verde frutado de ouro, troncado e arrancado de negro, acompanhado em chefe por dois grupos de três pêras de verde sustidas e folhadas do mesmo esmalte. Em contra-chefe, um terrado negro, realçado de verde, formando duas encostas que acompanham o tronco do castanheiro. O terrado cortado por três faixas ondadas, duas de prata e uma de azul. Coroa mural de cinco torres de prata. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : " CIDADE DE FUNDÃO ".

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 19, 1988.

Unfortunately I have no background information on these arms. Any information is welcome  !
