Arms of Mažeikiai

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 26, 1996.

The arms were first designed in 1968 by a local resident. The arms are a combination of a bow, symbolising defence, and a lightning rod, symbolising energy. The arms were abandoned in 1970 and with some small modifications restored in 1996.
