Arms of Gørlev

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially registered in 1978.

The three plough irons are a symbol for the local agriculture, especially the cultivation of sugar beets. The chequered chevron (sparre) is a canting symbol for the medieval Sparre family, which had many possessions in the area.
