Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 8, 1945 to Ransäter and again on January 27, 1950 to the renamed municipality.
The monk (munk) is a canting element and is based on the old settlement Munkerud, which was a possession of the Alvestra monastery. The cross in the chief is taken from an official measure and is a symbol for the iron works in Ransäter in the municipality. The linden trees refer to the forests, the base to the Ranån river.
