Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 25, 1992.
The tree with the two birds is the traditional sign on the arms of the town, and it's an allusion to the name Selva, that in Catalan means "forest". The Tau cross, or St. Tecla cross, is an allusion to the archbishops of Tarragona, lords of the town (St. Tecla being the local patron saint of Tarragona). These
